Don't compromise
Pastor Gideon's visit to YA meeting last Saturday was really a blessing to the grypers....which i would say that. I always got excited when a guest speaker comes bcoz want to know what he or she will be preaching or sharing. Pastor Gideon's preaching last Saturday was taken from the book of Daniel, chapter 1. (Don't know why these past few months we've been ministered with Daniel chapter 1 again and again). I didn't jot down any notes bcoz I just wanted to really pay attention to his preaching.
Well, Pastor Gideon was preaching about how Daniel and his three friends kept themselves pure to the Lord even though they were taken captive by the Babylonians. And bcoz of their obedience towards God, God had caused them to become outstanding among the Babylonians and to be qualified to enter the king's service of Babylon. The message was all about living uprightly and not to compromise our Christian faith though we are living in a corrupted world or a world where it is not according to God's way.
At first, I told myself ok, not bad... it was a message that everyone could relate to and it is something that we Christians really have to look into. However later on, it was Ps Gideon's life testimony that really touched me. He shared about how his life was turned around by God, from a really messed up teenage guy to a really successful person. It was amazing to know how God can change us no matter how messed up we are if we surrender to Him and believe that He is in control. God will also bless His children abundantly if they choose to honour Him and not to compromise their Christian way of living.
Though I have listened to many great testimonies from Christians in the past, still I'm not tired to listen of how different people's lives have changed because of God. They always remind me that God is so faithful, so forgiving and so loving and He only offers what is best for us. All God wants is our faithfulness towards Him...that's it.
I want to end this blog by saying this...let's choose to stand for God no matter what for He is worthy after what He has done for us on the cross. Okay the end. By the way, frisbee rocks!
Take care and God bless!

G-Race is over but not quite finished
As soon as we arrived at El Sanctuary(camp site), we were greeted warmly by the friendly caretaker there. He even helped with the luggages, and ushered us into the hall. After settling down, 36 of us were divided into four groups. There were the blue, green, orange and purple... but soon, each of the groups have their own
Then we were given a task, to paint the group's flag. I guess this was a great time for everyone in the group to know one another while painting away. Unity comes naturally because each group wants to out do the other groups. Haha =p Oh! not forgetting in every group there must be a cheer right? let's just say, some are downright original *cough cough*.
After that, we're off to put our luggages in our dorms... climbing uphill to our dorms is not an enjoyable thingy for me,but oh well it is better than guys who need to climb 82 steps to their dorm.
Pastor Eddy made us see how important it is to have the Holy Spirit in us. He stresses that the Holy Spirit would give us visions and dreams that would never die. And that we should fix our eyes on the ending, the result. Just like how Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He did not see the thorns, the shame or the pain, but He saw you having a relationship with His Father. Ps Eddie also prayed for those who have not receive the gift and there were two came to know Christ that night. Thank God =) And after that, He continued preaching, on how the Holy Spirit would help us when we share God's gospel with our friends.

Day 2-of killing bears and lions
Anyway, after breakfast, we went to gather in the hall for Session Two. This time Ps Eddy talked abt self worth, on how we should view self worth. Nowadays, society tend to view self worth has self achievement & other ppl's opinion. the right equation for self worth should be SELF WORTH=RESOLVE OUR IDENTITY+CHOOSE TO STAND FOR SOMETHING+HAVE DREAMS AND VISIONS+CREATE A NEW REALITY. We should know who we are, that our identity should be found in Christ, not by the clothes we wear, the music we rock to or the football team we support. Choose to make a stand. to defend what you believe in, don't let anyone influence you to be indecisive.
It is almost like the real amazing race you watch on TV. Each groups were given clues started with finding the walls of Jericho in El Sanctuary. My hope was not to come in last, cause there is gonna be some kind of penalty for the last group O-O. Then we met with a "road block" which was everyone has to walk across the suspended longgggg rope..but everyone step up to the challenge and overcome their fears of heights and whatnots *hip hip hooray*...then there was the spider web thingy..where everyone had to work hand in hand to carry the members across a gap hole without touching the spiderweb..
then we were given a choice after completing that task-physical or mental? two groups chose physical which is to crawl on the grass in the field-already covered with flour, with a partner tied together around the ankles, all this while being poured all over with cold water. oh how fun! the other chose to do the mental thingy...to find 30 (or was it 29?) names of the books in the Bible in a long article. After that, the last task is to raise our group's flag on a floating flag pole. The last flag pole done up would be the last team and have to suffer the penalty.
Finally! we had another yummy dinner-BBQ =) lamb chop, garlic bread, mussels, creamed onion, sausages..need i say more?

passion?compassion?
greetings.it HAS been a loonnggggg time since i blogged here.i know i know.terrible me.so what did we have last week?passion?compassion?
YA started off with prayers...and weird that i kinda prefer prayer like it was last week..no one was assigned to pray on anything..no breaking into groups..everything was so spontaneous..and it was obvious that ppl are praying because they want to pray..just like that..can almost hear "Let The River Flow" in the background..yea..
then started off with worship..led by Joe and it was good worship =).off to games..okay ppl..watch me..*takes deep breath* buttercup, juwita, princess Nat,maid servant, michiru, coconute boy, waffle girl, clever *cough cough* boy,tofu-la,yiman,fei fei, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, brown shoes, megatron, optimus prime,starscream,ahkerA1,liewsiewling,crunchy girl, pinky, scaredy cat *gasp for air*...i know there's no scaredy cat..i added that one in for Charis cause she chickened out and didn't do hers..i wonder if i miss anyone out?*shrug*
then it was sermon time..we had Pastor Brian in the house (during worship session,i thought i saw Pastor Nirhal -_-")..and his sermon was titled "Passion for God,Compassion for People"...he told us that there's 3 types of ppl in this world..the unreach ppl,the unsaved ppl and the unchurched ppl...and how can we cultivate a passion for God.first up,there's prayer.yes we all know prayer is powerful and how it should be a part of our daily life.but are you praying like Jeremiah?are you weeping and mourning for the ppl you pray for?does you heart cries out when you are filled with the burden of the lost?then ther;es the Word of God.Pastor Brian introduced us to the term "yoyo Christian"..well it was new to me..or not so..it's where believers swing from one side to the other..being up-really jolly and thanking God for everything, cause life is oh-so-great....being down-blaming God,being resentful towards Him just cause life isn't going your way.
and last but not least, our lifestyle...."you are the light & the salt".how many times have we heard this before?ppl are watching you..action speaks louder than words.the way you dress,talk,walk..everything.so i guess we should think twice or more before we say or do something, cause we hold a bigger accountability to the Big Man up there, and not just the leaders in church =)
we end the meeting last saturday with refreshments..why do they call it refreshment?don't ppl get slightly sleepy after eating?*shrug* so anyway, there were drinks and muffins and cakes and yea.we just hang out and eat and chat.
and that's all for the day.will be back next week,to bring you more news on YA =)
p/s:-yes ppl i googled up supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Being in Hillsong once again
Last sunday, they were here for concert, And being there just reminds me of being in Hillsong where people come and hour before service, waiting for the door to swing open and flood the arena / hall to grab their favourite seats.
The concert started by them coming on stage, without introduction (which is a little odd) but I guess there weren't enough space to do those "LET'S PUT OUR HANDS TOGETHER AND GIVE A LOUD APPLAUSE TO (drum roll).......(keep rolling)..... HILLSONG!!!" (screams and shouts while band member comes out on stage).
They started with The time has come, with the infamous intro and the drummer Mike was bamming away fans like YiJiang and Dinesh who happen to be a hand reach away from him. I was looking at David Andrews and his keys, and He is married ;) back to topic, After that had ended What'd you know? Take it all Well I can't help to wonder why they scream and shout when back at HPA they kept complainig "iyoh that song again?" Well magic!
That lead on Miriam saying "we'll worship you Lord for who you are" and guess what song came on of course For who you are wooo nice selection. Now I must say the worship atmosphere was so great that the voices of crowd was so loud I can't hear Miriam at all throughout all these while.
A new number surface at this point of time Hosanna which is in the new album quickly became our Favourite and they sang hard and loud at least our Guys did. I like it when the part of lyrics that says - "we're on our knees" Miriam knelt down for quite some time. Although the famous SELAH track that follows the CD did not happen, I am quite content. MIGHTY TO SAVE wow, do I need to elaborate on this? well one memorable moment is when I turn and saw some adult from our church sang with their hearts out! wow....
Another new number came in this is got to be my favourite track from the album Saviour King Nothing more need to say, the name speaks for itself. Soon after the senior pastor of the church came and talk few things about challenges in life and a very quick turn I can see Redman Bedham wisphering... Mighty to Save and we ended with Mighty to save.
Redman Bedham talks about HALLEL means ridiculous praise. I couldn't concentrate much because I am squating cramping in one spot while the girl next to me had her flare skirt all over the floor and at certain point I was on it and she was like pulling them out. Man. Soon after the concert continued with The Freedom we Know They did not sang the fourth verse which I wondered why... anyways, They move to King of Majesty and ended with a slow number Into Your Hands and what's amazing was when they moved to free worship (very rare scene you can see from them) But that's when their SELAH tracks all comes in. David Andrews took the lead and sang Mesiah just that words made into a song. Crazy. It was up and down and up. But it ended that way. Of course no concert can go on without an encore.
What's the encore? haha they boring-est song that you guys kept babbling everytime we sang it that's right Take it all =) Final thoughts? It reminds me of Hillsong Church where people are excited about worship, the bands are great and alot children* running around snapping pictures of the band
* = Just a joke
Alright there you have it, Hillsong Concert review in (almost) full detail. Beat that! ;) It is also the 1st time I able to recall the entire concert with my brain. Fuyoh

sleepover is over?
cut and edited (a lot) by JOHN =D
date:-20/4/2007-21/4/2007
time:-night time?
venue:-Yaw's palace
occasion:-GRYG a.k.a God's Radical Young Girls sleepover =p
ok fine..maybe that was lame..well,that's cause i have no idea how to start the blog..i tried being formal, but it's so not my style =p anyway..the night started out quite late..before reaching the Yaw's place..some of us came from church and we dropped by at the ProJet to get some stuff to stuff our face with later.reached Yaw's place...and we were warmly welcomed =)really thank you so much for opening up your house for us crazy bunch to sleepover =)
and so we started off with...eating..yes..that's right..we had junk food..maggi mee and Steph's mum made raisins bread for us too!..so we ate,and ate,and ate(the girls are gonna kill me for this)..until it was time to go down to the room..this is where all the fun started...can you believe that Christine and i danced to Christmas thing?anything for entertainment..and Kristina was playing judge and all..Deborah danced too..then we almost,ALMOST get to see Debbie and mama bear dance, but something happened.
I heard man's voices while the dog was braking wildly into the silent night.told them to keep quiet..so i can hear properly to confirm but girls being girls, they couldn't stop giggling,so i told them "i heard man's voice"..in a blink of eye,all of them screamed and jumped on the bed..ahhh entertainment to MY eyes =p was I imagining it?hmm Debbie and Deborah heard voices too earlier on...then Felicia Y "entertained" us with stories of robberies in her nieghbourhood and cases of slashing parangs and nitrogen explosion..which got some of us really scared?but hehe being God's Radical Young Girls..we encouraged each other that God will protect us,and at least we have each other.then Christine promoted her Picitonary..more like Ju Ping's Pictionary..but not everyone was interested.
then we played a game, better than Pictionary,a game that guys can never be caught playing during their sleepover or they'll be called sissies =p,a game that's like the best ever.nope,it's not Barbie dolls or masak-masak. we played "Spin the drum stick" =) but thanks to this game,it's where we really "berbonding",more like pillow talk.=)
what time did the guys sleep? 3 am?what?!let me hear it again...3 am?!!!..though some of the girls were knocked out by 4am or so..our winner is deborah/debbie..5 something!yay yay..both the Felicias were on the bed with jenn, while the rest just snuggle around the bed,in their mattresses/sleeping bags.
i woke up to birds chirping in my ears (cause i slept near the window)..when i woke up,i was like "where am i?what's this beautiful place?can this be the palace of my future prince?is this it?" then i heard SOMEONE snoring into my ears..and i'm like.."right..sleepover" everyone moved around, got cleaned up,showered, then off to devo.
we did the parable of the Rich Man.we went into deeper talk.abt being each other's Sister's Keeper =) and learning that we should keep our eyes on God,not let anything else hinder us.we have to surrender every part of our lives to God,let it be our studies, our decisions or finding the perfect guy, just everything!and also with God all things are possible.
then we had breakfast...we had nasi lemak, toast egg sandwhich,home-made soya bean and mee...yea..really thank God for the good hospitality =) yummy full brunch!before we bid farewell,we presented the Yaws with a gift, and prayed for them, then Joe came,(and ate some of the mee..hehe)we're off to church for YA!
all in all,i would say this is a great sleepover.though i wished there were more girls..but still,we had great fellowship!
something like this again soon?
and a shoutout:-
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TEH JU PING!!!=) and BRYAN SENG and JEFFERY CHUA and APRIL birthdays!

Sleepover! (guys)
We ate a lil after service and head back to church for fellowship. It is indeed nice to have Pastor Peter and Pastor Nirhal to join us for a time of games and fellowship.
I expected more younger generation people (those that knows no sleep) to join. But it turns out that there were more older ones there. Well, anyway, We played pictionary, well indeed we use action. Playing that game is kinda tough because the words given were pretty easy -_- I have to choose some hard ones. And playing with Matthew and all is harder also. Because the words that are medium and hard he don't know. The one that are easy were too easy.
That was done and the winner team was Matthew, Aaron, Pastor Nirhal and Johanan. NICE! After that some of them played scrabble and many played the game of life. It is interesting. I played neither. Just rested a while, chat with Pastor Peter a while.. Chat with Johanan on the bulletin board. And that was it.
3AM lights off! yep we went to bed and Joe got his own inflatable air bed. I slept on the floor. Dinesh was coughing non-stop. A symphony of orchestra was playing every corner of the room. and variations non-stop. I don't really bother. TOO TIRED hahaha. Some can't really sleep. Were there tiny friends? Of course not.. they're good pets they stay in toilets. so girls...Church is not haunted with them.
The next morning... 8AM devotion O.o we did a proverbs and we did everyone think and have a bit of devotion thoughts. I like that. Then we decided to eat MCd for breakfast because it is rare occasion. We ate there. After that I had to rush off do some work. The guys went and watch NEMO hahaha I arrived when the show ended.
My verdict? I like sleepovers haha although I am too old and my bones are too fragile, But it is still fun. CHURCH is really comfortable to sleep in the air-con does get cold in the morning though. DUH!
Alright maybe we'll hear reports from the girls next week huh. ;)

Freebies... *but please don't abuse*
I was struggling to post this up actually, but since not many people visit here often (which they should instead of friendstering)
There a lot of sermon uploaded by our agent in Sydney. But before I throw in the link,
Note :
1) These Materials aren't cheap. They cost really really a lot. Please do not take and distribute burn and distribute around without asking me first. I will determine whether it is necessary or not.
2) It takes lots of man hour to upload the files to the internet. Many thanks to Eastlyn, when you see her online, thank her. Else you can just sms it to her Maxis number.
3) Take and appreciate the material and the effort. Do not take anything for granted. Due to heavy traffic at times, the website might be slow. Do not complain because it takes twice that speed to put it online. Do remember that.

Grypers Abroad 2
-----------------------------------------------
Aloha GRYP and the ohana of hosanna,
On the islands of Hawaii, ohana is the word for family and I thought it appropriate for the true identification of HPA’s youth. Asked to write something about my experiences here, I chose instead to write about what I’ve learned. No matter where you are, no matter when I’ve felt alone, which may be familiar to a lot of college kids today, the truth is that not once have I ever been alone. Just ask Jesus.
I’m currently attending New Hope Fellowship church here on beautiful Oahu. We are a dynamic and outgoing church, and in fact, the fastest growing church in America currently. New Hope holds services of up to 12,000 people on a single weekend. Although we don’t have our own church building, our services are held in one of the biggest high school gyms on the island. Nearly half of our congregation are homeless. Our church will house as many as they can during the night, but even so, a few hundred have to deal with finding places to sleep on the streets. One of the reasons for why we don’t own a building is because the majority of funds head to shelter the homeless. We figure better for them to have one than us. This has been a burning issue in my heart ever since I’ve moved here, and would just like to share this with you.
The church recently held many food buffets for them, and just seeing the joy of the church helping out is incredible. Even the homeless have feelings and just want to be secured and loved. A lot of them were successful and had families before, but some lost all of that in days. They live currently lost, many just stroll the streets the whole day. Drunk off alcohol, high on drugs, and abusing themselves. However this was why we were created, to be soldiers for Christ, to be disciples of the gospels, to bring justice to the entire world, to reach out to save the lost. Therefore as an encouragement, Malaysia too has its share of poverty. Give as much as you can afford, give as much as your heart can warrant, give to make an impact on someone. And as all of you know, God has a soft spot for people who give. Your returns will be literally out of this world.
Following the iheartrevolution, just in case some of you don’t know what it’s about, it was basically created as an outreach program by the infamous Hillsong Church. The leader of this, Joel Houston, and his crew have had such a deep passion for using their resources to reach the poorest and the least of nations.
“We live in a broken world. A world where over two thirds of the population live in poverty. A world that's crying out for answers - a world that's crying out for hope. The time to act is now. We can't rely on governments for change; we must be the ones to carry that responsibility. THIS is our mandate: to change the world. The 'I Heart Revolution' is a DVD documentary made by Hillsong United highlighting what's happening in our world today. We believe it's through worship that we touch the heart of God and through the eyes and experiences of Hillsong United we'll be challenged to see the need and moved to do something about it as they bring worship to nations around the globe.
Let's act.
Let's start a revolution.
"The revolutionary kingdom of God is here - advancing by reconciliation and peace; expanding by faith, hope, and love, beginning with the poorest and the least. It's time to change your thinking - be part of the REVOLUTION."
In addition to all of that, it doesn’t mean that you have to attend Hillsong or live in Sydney to be part of this. There is a time for all of us to start thinking about not just your church or our church, but the people that don’t know the church the way we know it. Of course, church is never boring, its fun, its radical, its hysterical, its awesome, its touching, its moving, and it’s Jesus. But your classmate next to you in school, your bus driver, your cousin, your best friend might not know that, and the time is now for you to act. It doesn’t have to be a homeless guy for it to be awesome, for what was that verse again? Oh yeah, for whoever receives salvation, all of heaven and its angels praise!
Come on guys! We are in a generation and a time where there are massive amounts of opportunities to do something, anything to extend the Kingdom of God. We have to be this generation that is able to do more than any generation has ever done. We have to be that generation that doesn’t feel weird or awkward to express our worship towards God. To express our heart for the lost.
“It’s not about highlighting the darkness.
It’s about becoming the light that diminishes the darkness.
It’s the gospel, and it is now.”
My challenge to whoever feels the same, take the time now to follow this, to learn this concept of the “iheartrevolution”. Love definitely has lost a lot of its impact in this world today. It may be from boy band pop songs, romantic comedy movies, and of course all of that isn’t wrong. But what I’m trying to say is that there’s so much more to love than that. All of us have had someone that has died for us. Paid a price for our lives. Continuously bled on the soils of this earth, for you and I. Just so that we will not perish here, but have everlasting life. Now if you ask me, that’s the true meaning of love. And now it’s yours and my choice to take this word onto the rest of the world.
If you choose to accept, how will you know when this mission is finished? Well the answer is simple, if you’re alive, then its not. But I find no greater calling than to love God, love people, and to love life.
“Now let the weak say I have strength, by the spirit of power that raised Christ from the dead. Let now our hearts burn with a flame, a fire consuming all for your Son’s Holy Name and with the heavens we declare, you are our King.
We love you Lord, we worship you. You are our God, You alone are good. You asked your son to carry this, the heavy cross, our weight of sin. I love you Lord, I worship You; hope which was lost, now stands renewed. I give my life to honor this, the love of Christ, the Savior King.”
God bless

The boy and his boat
Hello, It is going to be easter in 7 days time. While we don't have snowflakes, Easter trees or gift exchange, we received something from Jesus - An open door to Salvation.
I've got here a little story about (as what the title says). This is not an original story, but it is truly inspiring for me personally. And I created the title because the story didn't have one.
The boy and his boat
There was a boy who likes to build and construct small models. One day he built a small boat and right immediately he went to the beach to test out his new boat. It works, but the ocean waves soon carry the small little boat further and further away from the beach and far into the ocean. It was too far and dangerous to retrieve it back. Sadly the boy went home.
Not long after that, he was shopping around and he passed by a toy shop. To his amazement, he saw a small little boat. A closer look confirmed that it was his boat. He was filled with joy. A few weeks later, with much hard work, he manage to save up the amount and quickly went to the toy shop to purchase the boat.
When he was out of the shop filled with joy, he told that small little boat, "now you are twice mine. I made you and now I bought you with a price."
In the same way, not only did God created us, he send his son to redeem us.

19 MARCH 2007
Hey Grypers ,
The arena was packed with people. Its trully an international church because there were not only australian but also asian, negro's,european, scandinavian, and etc.
As usual Darlene was leading worship along with Joel Houston, Reuben Morgan, Marty Sampson and the rest of the group. there was a new comer too. she sang the hosanna(Song) and another song in the live worship. she has a good voice.
After singing about 6 songs we had break where we saw church news. In order to get a reserved seat for the live worship we had to purchase an AUD 5 ticket. the AUD 5 can be refunded if you choose not to donate to the Koloomandra drought. i decided to donate my aud 5 ticket to the drought. nothing please me more when i see my aud 5 is use wisely. Moreover i was bless to be in the live worship and i believe the aud 5 will be able to help the drought though its just a small amount. Then Pastor Brian was getting a little lame with jokes to make sure than we are awake and etc.
Colour conference was equally great. the amount of delegates exceeded hillsong's expectations. we had good speakers. i didnt make it for the colour conference but am planning to go for the 08 and to get my mum to come. the colour 2008 colour conference is on the 6 - 8 March 2008.(autumn season). by then if you guys are coming to syd you guys can fly by jetstar airlines. its Quantas Ailines low cost carrier. It's almost like air asia. jet star from syd to kl but have to check whether does it fly from kl to syd

The united album - all of the above is out too. it is a studio album not live version but there are 2 bonus live songs and other clippings. i have not gotten my copy yet but will be getting it by this week.
The live worship album will only be out in jun or july (near to the hillsong conference) . i plan to serve in hosting(Ushering) for the 5 pm service and i will be attending the 11.30 am service.
Its tremendous blessing to be in Syd. staying and studying in the city, attending hillsong and having a good circle of international friends and having my parents approving for my intention to study at hillsong evening college - leadership course. though my parents are not believing christian but when they see how God is leading and guiding me here, they decided to attend church back in malacca. I am excited for their decision making. i know my parents will one day be a believing Christian. Nothing brings me joy when i see my parents praying for me. for those gryp people parent's who are not christian. hang in there and continue to believe. what God has bless me here i will share it with you guys.
Just within 2 months that i arrived in hillsong chruch, there was so much things that i learned . Hillsong indeed is a great church but if you are just attending and not expecting something its just a waste down the drain. to me i see Hillsong church and it's congregation as a married couple. it must has the continious bond of relationship, united, team work and etc and that is how congreation and church grow. Hillsong is a church that never sleep. there is always people behind and infront the scene and in the places that you would never thought too.
take care and God bless

BACK
added and edited by: John
hello peeps....after what seems like a very very long 3 weeks!...YA is finally back...aren't we all glad that we're back being our bouncy self, saturday afternoon in our comfy church?many turn up today...though there were a few MIA (missing in action) souls..but we have a new-comer..and an old/new comer...ain't i confusing? ok i promise no more monolouging from me after this paragraph.
so...we started off YA with...what did i hear you say?worship?WRONG ANSWER...ppl,where have you been?YA started off with prayers!!!we prayed for encouragement...and before we started prayer..Toefl asked us an unanswered question.."what is YA all about?"...i don't know abt you...but as we pray..and as i hear different youths pray..i found the answers to that one question.YA is about God,and about one another =)
worship was awesome...man..every worship is awesome if you mean what you sing...so i hope many of you manage to trade some,if not all,of your burdens for the joy of the Lord =) then we were off to testimonies...and then games...oh man...God's Radical Young People out of control today...throwing balls at each other...this shows that we know how to have fun too =p..i never got to know if i won or not..i mean if group one or group two won...right Quan Wei,the game master..declared Joman the winner..because he damage the plastic container that they kept the balls in...haha..if you were there to witness it...you'll burst out laughing too!
then we had preaching...first time ever by...*drum rolls*...Joe =) great job...he had some stories, which he did some sound effects himself haha..ok on a serious note,he preach about "Purpose With Passion"...mainly talking about the many reasons(fine...5--->see i pay attention!) why ppl loose passion in things...the first point where he said about something precious becoming familiar...really hit me on the chest..i pray that for all of us..something as precious as Jesus Christ would never just be something familiar in our life =)
and Joe also mention abt loving the unlovable...to have the passion to love the unlovable..why you think God ask us to love our enemy?=p and he ended his preaching with a video...it's about a story of father and son Rick Hoyt(son) and Dick Hoyt(father)..who has been joining marathons and races for __ years (sorry..i'm bad with memory numbers)...and they completed ___miles (same reason as before) of races...well,to cut a long story short..they do things that you and i thought is impossible because the son is paralysed.did i just hear you gasp?*gasp* the song "I can only imagine" accompanying this video...just blow me away...hope it does for you...also that you will be encouraged by this video, believing that with God,you can make the impossible, possible in your life!

FAITH
Greetings =)
for those of you who couldn't make it for last saturday's meeting...my oh my,what a GREAT meeting you missed!
It was not a usual Saturday for the youths,it was a special meeting in conjunction with the healing rally over the weekend, and the speaker was Rev Ignatius Omoighe.Well, this is just a short summary from Saturday's preaching...all i can say is that hearing him speak made me regret not attending Friday's prayer meeting the night before, which he also spoke...and i did not take notes, because i couldn't take my eyes off him..because his passion in preaching is really awesome, what were you thinking?=p
The preaching was mainly about faith...how faith is dead without actions, which is actually quite true, ppl dun have faith until they see something happen..."so and so...so terrible also can get saved,so have faith that your so and so can also get saved" (my own example) but got the point right?and also he made me see from a point of view that i never saw before...on a simple, yet complex thing that God did for you and me.Creating creations!God took 6 days to create everything there is in this universe,in fact more than the universe,(don't you feel small now?),yet people today, after 6000 years are still making discovery of new stuff everyday!this got me thinking..that he's right...because God took one day to make man,and yet the Human Genome project is yet to be completed.ain't God awesome?
He also mention about the youths, and how useful we are to God,because we are still young and God will use us to do so much more,he's very glad to see us all hyped-up and stuff...oh well, just trying to be God's Radical Young People =)and he also shared a story, where an old man and a small young boy were saved, and when someone asked,"how many are they saved today?"...the pastor answered "1 and the half"..i was thinking that the pastor was referring to their sizes..but he was actually talking abt their life spent on earth, because the old man was already old...half his life is already gone without knowing God,hence leaving the "other half" saved (it's simple mathematics =p ) therefore praise God that you are young and you know God! =)
He also side-tracked to point out that,he's preaching to himself...saying that whatever that God wants to tell us is coming through him, therefore he is the first to get God's message and then preach it.never look at it that way before...
later he concluded by quoting romans 8:11-"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you"
because God made us,there is no reason He isn't capable or wouldn't heal us and make our body whole again, all we have to do is have faith and ask for it.
and I conclude my post wishing everyone, all Grypers including those overseas!,a Blessed Chinese New Year...say your journey mercy before starting on your journey back home-town..see you guys soon!=)

PYD or YPD?
Hello-o-o-o
Well It was a good parent-youth day yesterday and I was truly surprised by the turn out, many of them which their children is still very far ahead from being a teenager. But I guess they were curious of what we did in Youth
Glad we showed them that we are actually not bad people MUAHAHAHAHA... haha for those parents who came, I believed that they felt how "packed" our schedule is and usually they'll say.. Why you spend so much time in church la, this la, that la. But in the end I guess they felt that time past that fast too right parents? HAHA
I can see most of them enjoyed being a youth.. A special Thanks too to Uncle Oliver, Aunty Linda and Uncle Micheal for the "promotion" today at church about the youth service, much of what we want to get across today are being said. THANK YOU
Well, I will upload the 'games' video pretty soon I hope >.<
But while we are at the joyous mood, why don't you check out some top ten trivia about GRYP

Great Start
hey hey hey!Happy New Year to everyone!well, today was the first week of YA in 2007,and it was a really great start =) amen?
today we had the YES (Youth Enriching School) people with us...they were visiting and i dare say,we were truly blessed with their visit..
oh man,why am i blogging so formally?sorry..i'm just over-excited about the butt ball...i'm here to just tell you about butt ball (yea right..) okay for games, today we had butt ball,it's like captain ball, but the only difference is we can't move around because we're all seated and our butt is stuck to the ground...you see there's two teams, team one and team two..at first team 2 scored, and the team 1,was a bit disappointed..(well,i was!and i'm team 1..so yea)...but i thought we'll have a chance...mana tau,the team 2 kept scoring and scoring till it was 4-0...and i almost want to sub to team 2!(call me traitor...) then quan wei,the game master, said that the next goal will be worth 4 points...and guess who scored?that's right...team ONE!!!and man...suddenly the sun shine so brightly..haha...nah..then the next goal will determine the winner...and you know what?!team ONE won!!!...we won,we won!!!...see,i always believe that each team have a fair share of winning if the game is still on =)
on a serious note, today's sharing was great...we had 2 testimonies from the YES ppl...sau yip and david...and yes, wake up in the morn, and see His face, think of Him and sing His songs..that's a good point...and bro john did some sharing today on resolutions...the thing is ppl have resolutions but don't get them done...so john told us to write this down before listing our resolutions, which is "i will not resolute this resolutions next year"...there's 3 type of resolutions, physical resolutions, professional resolutions and spiritual resolutions...he told us to always have God in all our resolutions, because at the end of the day,man can plan, but only God will strategize our steps...and we should all write down our resolutions and not just have ideas in our mind (*cough cough*)...because habakkuk 2:2 says "write my answers plainly on tablets,so that a runner can carry the correct message to others" (NLT)
though YA got off to a great start,it is always good to end the race for the year 2007 well too...no point starting strong and then wiggle off to a corner, right my frens?i hope that GRYP would grow, not only in numbers, but for each of us to grow spiritually stronger in the Lord, that we would continue to persevere and stay united always, not forgetting to have a passion for Christ, and to reach out...and to...okay,i'll sum it up..to be God's Radical Young People!=p
oh yea...i would like to end by telling you one of my resolutions...but don't go tell anyone,k?shhh...which is to blog more for GRYP
p/s:-thanks bro john for "re-decorating" this blog and for adding a chat box (yay!)

Goodbye
Photo: Chin Hoe
January 01 2007 saw the leaving of one of the greatest friend, shepherd, pastor, father, etc... And the person is of course non other than Pastor Nirhal Philips. It is definitely a great lost to Hosanna Praise Assembly, and more so a great lost to GRYP.
Although this youth group started by the other founders, but he build it up with strong foundations and the youth group became what it is that you see today, 9 years of continuous training and drilling has what made this youth group strong and able to stand on both feets.
After this long 9 years, God has decided to call him to move on to another challenging ministry and another phase of life that he should get exposed to and it is always good to keep ourselves refresh every time before we rot at one place eh?
Thank you for all the years of teaching myself and the others about principles in life and spiritual principle and getting our own foundation and thinking pattern fixed. Really appreciate that and we will do our best to run the youth as good as you did and maybe even better than what you did. Afterall it is your vision that we'll run it better than you did.
Thanks and once again, we'll greatly miss your ministry here.
